My delta 10 inch table saw melted its motor today. It has the direct drive motor in it. this was the third time it has happened. Delta has replaced the motor twice, this time it went to the dump. Anyway Delta has a sale going with the model # 36-968 or 36-969( left or right tilt.) It is a 10" dual voltage saw, with cast side tables and a very good T2 fence system. And a mobile base stand. 1-1/2 HP belt drive. I put it together and ran it today and am very happy with it. So if anybody needs a new table saw, this one at $549.00 is a good deal, that was at the House of Tools here in western Canada. But any dealer should match that price. It will be a bit more in the US with your dollar doing so poorly.( I just had to put that dig in.)

I have the Delta 36-978 table saw. It is a 10 inch left tilt with cast iron extentions, T2 fence, and a moble base. It also has a 1 1/2 hp. motor. I don't know if it is 120-240 without looking. It came connected for 120 volts. Is sounds like its pretty close to the one you have. So far so good I have had it for about 9 months. It seems to be a fairly good saw even though its made in (where else?) China. I bought it at Lowes for about $660.00. I later received a 5 inch Porter Cable random orbital sander as a promotion. So as a result it made the saws price back down about $600.00. I figure it was still overpriced but what can you do? I believe most companies having there products made in China are making a lot of money they shoudn't be. Thats just my opinion. Good Luck with yours.
