Default I Love Craigslist

I have yet to buy a new saw. I bought my first one for $30 out of craigslist, it was a rusted old Delta 16 inch and it got me hooked. I won the same model on Ebay for $10 and changed to it and used the old one for parts. Now I found a Dewalt DW788 on craigslist from a dirt lot resale place. They didn't know what they had and I got it for $60. It has the light, the stand and the table only needs a light sanding and waxing.

I cannot believe the difference between the Deltas and the dewalt. When I turned it on for the first time I had to almost put my finger in the blade to be able to tell it was working. WOW.... I love this saw and craigslist.

I have sold thousands of dollars of things on creigslist. Used furniture mostly but some wood crafted items. It is a neat site!

Evie, look there, you might have to pick your location, but spending some time looking for deals can save you big bucks.

I had to go to WoodCraft today and get drill bits and they had one of those new Excalibur saws on display right next to the Dewalt. The rocker machinery looks very similar. I was with my 5 year old and I asked him if that green saw would look good in our garage and he said yes. The owner was standing there and he said, "I think it would too!!"

I said you give me the same kind of deal I got on my dewalt today I'd take it. He looked at me and asked what kind of deal I got and I told him. He just shook his head and walked away....

Nice Score Jim, you have to keep your eyes peeled on Craigslist as stuff comes and goes but you never know what you are going to find.

Well Jim, you have me beat on this one. I found a DeWalt DW788 on Craigslist this past week with the stand and light also. I thought I was getting a steal for only $225. I was so excited when I found out it was basically brand new! The blade just about touched the back of the throat in the table when it was tensioned. It was so close that if the saw was actually used it would have rubbed and probably broke rather quickly. After getting it home I straightened the stand a bit, adjusted the table, then got started making saw dust. I absolutely love this saw!!

I do have one question though. Most saws have a couple spots to lubricate. I downloaded the manual and it doesn't show anything on this saw. Am I missing something?
