G'day Jim,
According to Dewalt, there is no need to lubricate any parts, however when I checked my saw over, just after I bought it, there are a couple points that wouldn't hurt and could probably benefit from an occasional drop of oil.
The rocker arms where the blade clamp assembly is fitted only has white metal bearings so a drop of oil on those occasionally wouldn't hurt. Also, if you ever have reason to take apart the blade tension mechanism, a bit of grease on that is a benefit.
Now, if for any reason you're feeling really adventurous and get into the guts of the saw, there's a metal plate at the back that the the blade tension rod slides against, this to could do with a touch of grease.

John!

You have only had your saw for 2 minutes, do we assume that you have had it in pieces, already?

G'day Sue,
No not the Newie, the Old'n.
Mind you I'm tempted, just to see how it works and what the differences are between the Ex-21 and the Dewalt, but I think I'll just have to ignore, ignore, ignore those urges

Besides, when ever I pull something apart, I usually have a handful of bits left over that don't seem to go anywhere. LOL
