Question Hawk scroll saw casters

Anyone with a Hawk scroll saw have casters on their saw? A short while back, I picked up a used 216VS. The stand just has the glide feet on it and I would like to switch them out to casters to make it more convenient to move around my garage when I need to. RBI has an accessory caster set and it looks to be currently on sale for $30 which is cheaper than I can get the casters at Woodcraft I was planning on using. But, RBI doesn't have a picture on their website so I don't know anything about the casters.

Anybody have the casters from RBI on their saw? Are they locking casters? How stable is the saw with them...do they add a lot of vibration?

I have the Hawk casters on my saw with the front handle. When in use the saw sits on its leggs NOT the casters. The front handle has an added benefit. I clip on a plastic bag and most of the sawdust and scraps fall into it and not on my lap. I left some sawdust on the saw so that it looks like I actually use it.

The piece of wood on the table is a nice touch too . . .

So do the caster come completely off when not in use? I do not see them in the pic.

O yea the casters, see how easy it is to get distracted. I went down to the basement this morning to take pictures of them and forgot.
The casters are mounted at an angle on the back legs. They only come into play when you lift the front of the machine.

So are they something like what RBI shows on their router shop (pic taken from RBI website)?

I was thinking about using something more along the lines of the casters shown in the other pic (taken from woodcraft website). I just wonder how much of a problem vibration would be with this type of caster on the saw. They are double locking casters (both the wheel and the swivel are locked when the brake is engaged).

Thats a great idea, I sure could have used those on my saw the last month, all the moveing it I had to do. and then just take them off. cool.
And Rolf. what a good idea about the bag, so simple, I put bags on everything. never thought of doing it under my scrollsaw to keep the dust off my pants. daaaaa. thanks. I will be doing that from now on. thanks. your friend Evie

I like the hawk castors better than the locking ones. The hawk ones are effortless because they don't touch the floor when the saw is sitting, only when you pick up the front of the saw. Less fiddle with balancing the legs and no need to bend down and lock or unlock the wheels. There's some pretty nasty stuff growing down under the saw by the feet..several generations of spider lunch. I'm not reaching down to touch that unless perhaps Joe Rogen offers me $50,000.

I promise I will take a picture when I get home tonight.
I am busy trying to prepare for a trip to Deerfield Beach Florida in the morning.
I need a dose of vitamin D to get rid of this flu I have been fighting.
Any scrollers in the area?

I am in Ocala Florida, about 6 miles West of I75, if you want to stop and say hello. Going down to Miami myself next Wednesday for Mothers Day.

I use casters that are sold for contractor's saws on my Hawk. I think they are similar to RBI's. The work well and you can easily set the saw down so it is setting on the legs. I had casters on a previous saw, and even though they were locking, I got more vibration than I wanted. I would not recommend just casters under your saw.
