Evie, you should be able to do your finger nails with a sander like that.

Just shuddering here ))))))))))))))))))))))))))
If my missus saw that post Evie, everything would be converted into shoes, dresses, blouses etc.

Good on you Sis.
That Sander sounds like a winner.

Really!!!

When I was doing my apprenticeship, the blokes would get a few belt sanders, long extension leads, and race then across the factory floor.

Ha John, I think that is so funny. and don't worry. I am cairfull with all my tools. any saw or sander can take off with you. when I got my 500 ATV, everyone freeked. they said oh my God. it is just way to fast for you. mmmmmmmm like it doesnt' have a throtale. hahaha. like I am going to get on. and go 70 miles per hr. on take off. NOT. I think, you get tools that fit your life stile. and I love this sander. not having a planer jointer, anymore. it can help out in that aria. when I use a belt sander, I wont it to eat meat right away. don't won' to mess around for hours. and when I take off the first 1/16 inch. I can go to smaller grits. fast. then on down to my hand orbitale.
I used a 3x21 crafstmon, to smooth out my table sides. and it took FORever. now , it will take less time. my arms got tired , so now I can do it faster, and my arms will get tired, but sooner done, and I wil be stronger. I don't mind the work, just hate playing around for longer time. so sooner is better. but , dont worry I am cairfull. also. I probley need to smooth out the floor on my cantainer too. which is hard wood. the only thing is, it only goes down to 120 grit. but I can see why. thats when I go to my other sanders.
What can I say, I am a toooool junkie. most girls buy shows and jewlery. I buy Tools. your friend Evie

I was going to ask if you were going to put a saddle on that thing, but then you said it's a meat-eater, so ...

I like your comment about your tools fitting your life style. I'm contemplating what my tools say about my personality. <G>

Thanks Kevin,
Well I got my new belt sander today. I did down size to the 8amp. 3x21. only becouse I hear do much bad about the plate cupping, and the dust colecter. so I got my new toy today , just intime, to flesh out the door jams. and cabnet faceings.
Boy she is sweat. and not heavy at all. what I love most , is the variabale speed. it starts at a stop. and up to 1300 rpms. so beleive it or not. i didn't grove anything, but it took off the wood I wonted to take off. and the dust collecter worked great. the sand papper belt, was so easy to put on. it has a quick realeas. with a traking nob to make the band stay on track. I just love this belt sander. what a good choice I made on this one. have lots more cabnet tops to do tomarrow. and looking forward to it. what a pleasure to use a good tool. I could move the belt to way out side to get into those small next to wall areas. and the belt stayed right where I put it. with that traking, nob. most sanders I have used. the belt moves back and forth. not this one. stays right where you put it. I would put my A++++++ on it for anyone. I'll tell you, with the variablae speed, I am not even scared to try to plane alittle book matched, resawn, piece of good wood. that i need to plane. mmmm if that make sence. whauuuu. love it. your friend Evie
