Default table for my sander

So, I've been using this $30 1-inch Central Machinery belt sander and it's been pretty great. I hit a spot yesterday, though, where I could have used the table, so I got my manual out to put it on. Pretty basic instructions...

Take off side cover.
Remove screw and toothed washer from handle assembly.
Put table on.
Attach table by placing handle assembly on the table side and put the screw in.
Replace side cover.

However, somewhere I went astray, because the table is not fixed, it slides back and forth and up and down I tightened the screw as much as I could but no joy. There aren't any other screws or screw holes. I put the toothed washer on the handle side of the table, as the illlustrations showed.

I bought a Central Machinery belt/disc comb sander years ago when I started scrolling, and unfortunately, for a lack of better words, it burned up. I ended up buying a Grizzly after that, and have been a satisfied user ever since. I hope that you have better luck with your Central Machinery product than I did.

Not sure about your unit but I have owned others. The table is designed to tilt. Probably even has the angles marked along a slot. Anyway to tilt it slides in a groove or track. Make sure the you put it in the track. If not in the track it would not tighten.

Although I tightened it as hard as I could, apparently it wasn't enough. My son fixed it for me and then mocked me for having girlie muscles. I then demonstrated why girlie muscles + broom = running man ;p

And thanks for the warning about it burning up; I will watch it pretty close. It just has to last me about 6-8 more pieces though and hopefully I can afford the motor with the inflatable sanders and an oscillating spindle sander. And a camera, which I direly need!
