Default New toy

I ordered me a Jet Midi with bed extension today. Also a set of 8 chisels. So when I get it in and set up I'll have lots of questions for you turners. I ordered from Amazon today (Tuesday) and they said I would have it by Thursday and free shipping.

Suhweeeet!! Be sure and provide some feedback on it after you get it so those of use that are considering a lathe can make a more informed decision.

I've heard good things about the Jet from people who have them .. ISTR that that is what Bill Young has now ..

I must admit I might have gone for one myself had there been any dealers round here. The General dealer is just down the road from me though and seems to have a reputation for good service in the event of any problems so that clinched it ..

Congrats Bruce. Tools are fun (or is it that fun is tools?). Steve, perhaps Fox Chapel Lathe and Scrollsaw Arts & Crafts would be a good beginning.

Jet MIDI?
What size is that? The small bench top or the 1236 like what I have?
Either way they are quiet smooth and you will have a ball. Be prepared to buy all the other thing you will NEED once you start turning.

Congrats Bruce!! I'm jealous! Seriously, I know you'll have a "ton of fun" with it. I can't wait to see what you make first.
