Question Hegner Multi-max 2 scroll saw setup

Hello. I have a Multi-Max 2 saw that I just bought used and would appreciated input from any folks who own and use one.

Vibration - I've been told that, on a well-balanced scroll saw, it is possible to set a nickel on edge with the saw running and have it stay standing up. I can do this with my Excalibur but not with the Hegner. If you use a Hegner could you please tell me what I should expect in this regard?

Speed adjustment - My saw's speed started behaving in a rather strange way recently. It works fine up until the dial is set in the vicinity of 2 am at which point it runs up to max speed even though the dial is not set for max speed. Rotating the dial back to the left does not cause the speed to decrease -- it just stays running flat out. The only way to correct this is to turn off the motor, turn the dial back all the way to the left and start over. If you have any ideas as to what causes this and how to fix the problem, I'd love to hear them.

Thanks for reading this and considering my problem.

Default Hegner Improvement

I think you mean Mlti-max 22V. The data plate and serial number should be on the right side of the machine. Your best bet is to call Advanced Machinery at 800 727 6553. A real person will answer and connect you to the Hegner technician who will walk you thru the necessary adjustments.

It is usually just a simple adjustment of a pot on the circut board. Hegner will talk you through it.
