Default Pattern Trace Light

Here is a picture of a tool I made to trace pattern. There's plexiglass in the middle and I put a light underneath. You can see right through the pattern. New 019.jpg

Nice. I just use a piece of plexiglass or tempered glass (I happen to have a nice sheet hanging around. Excellent tracing surface), and hold it in front of a light. I think this type of pattern making is better suited to intarsia/marquetry, and computer programs are easier for fretwork, but some may feel otherwise.

Heck, I was looking at the construction of the stand. Either you have a pocket hole machine or you are a very patient person. That won't come apart. Nice job.

Nice job with the base! Geeze man... I would have made that into a piece of furniture. A piece of frosted plexi on top and you could also use it as a coffee table. I know they're handy. I originally made mine to preview 35 mm slide when I was converting my old 35 mm photos over to 4x6 prints. It nows doubles as a drafting table when I put the green drafting pad on top of it. When I need an area to take close-ups of small items for eBay or to show with the truck, I clamp the enlarger body to it with my digital camera and close up lenses. They're very versatile...
