Default Birthday gift help

With a little hinting, ok lots of hinting, my wife bought me the Dremel 400 Series XPR rotary tool. I have an old Dremel so I am familiar with their use. My question: I am thinking about two accessories that are attached to the basic tool (1) the plunge router and the (2) shaper/router table. Most of my scrolling/fret work is building music boxes, small children toys, and some seasonal decorations. Thanks for you help.

The router table does NOT work with the 400 series ,I had to buy a second dremel it is the 275 single speed model. The body of the 400 is bigger than the 275,The accessories came out before the 400 series.
Check the box for each accessory it should list all models that work with them.
Hope this helps.

Yes, I found out the hard way about the router table attachment myself. Got it home, found it didn't fit my Dremel. Back to OSH for one that would fit, they didn't have that model. Off to Lowes--out of stock. Over to BORG not there either. Put the router table back in the box and back to OSH I went for a refund. Came to the conclusion that I really didn't need this attachment as I have 3 400 series model Dremels and another model just didn't make sense.

The plunge router does fit the 400 series but I have yet to use that other than a test to make it sure it fit. Only reason I bought it was because a store was going out of business and I got cheap. One of these days I may get around to using it. Have a bunch of stuff like that---bought new and never used. LOL Something about having my toys I guess.

AKAkopa,I don't mind having the two Dremels,The 275 is dedicated to the router table,And the 400 has the attachment kit(flex shaft/mower blade sharpener/etc.) so have lots of uses.
BTW you should rethink the router table if you use a base for any cuttings that need them,As the smaller pieces are much easier on the Dremel than a regular size router.

Guys - thanks for the quick replies. I caslled Dremel earlier today about both the plunge router attachment and the shaper/router table. Both will fit the 400 series XPR. The shaper/router needs an adapter which Dremel will send to you free of charge. Thanks again for the quick help.

Hal,
I wonder if Dremel got lots of complaints about the router table, good that you found they have an adaptor for it.

Hi Woodenfish. To use the Dremel 400 XPR with the router table, you need to obtain a new part for the table itself. Dremel sent me one free of charge, works great on small stuff.
