Default Mike, FD Corian Cutting Question

Some jughead (Barry) left me with a nice piece of Corian last year before he defected from Alaska to Minnesota, I've been eyeing this piece and I think I have a project for it. This is uncharted material for me so my question is which is my best bet in a FD Spiral to use on this material?

Thanks in advance,

Mike at Mike's Workshop has FD Polar blades suppose to be identical to the FD "Corian Blades" discontinued blades.

Thanks WD, I probably could have answered my own question by just checking his website. Just so I don't feel like I have burned bandwidth for no reason...has anyone recently cut Corian? If so what did you use and what type of work did you do?

Thanks again WD for pointing me to the obvious, laziness got the best of me.

I have used the Polar blades, #5 size when I cut corian.I havent got a clue on how a spiral would work on the stuff, but id imagine the cut would look pretty rough. Use an extra layer of packing tape on it, and keep a fresh sharp blade in the saw.If I can find a picture I'll show you what it was. Dale

I went to Phoenix 2 weeks ago to visit some scrolling friends and they had me cutting Corian. I'm sorry I can't tell you which blade to use!! They sent me home with a couple dozen, but I forgot to ask them what they were!! We were cutting 1/2 inch corian that was from counter top cutoffs. I've cut a couple trivets but I plan on cutting out a "fish" grouping to hang on the bathroom wall.

Here is one of the trivets:

The one really important thing I learned was to cover the corian with the blue painters tape first, then apply the pattern over that. By doing that I had no problems cutting it. I thought it would be very hard to cut, but it cuts fairly easy. Let us know how you get along and of course show pictures!!!
