had it finished just now, mounted the scrollsaw and reved it up. nice and silent, got some rubber materials for the footings and sandwiched some between the scrollsaw and the bench. I must say, It lessened the little vibration that was there... I am very happy overall upon this completion as most of the materials used for this lazy man's bench are scrap wood, making me spend around $10 only for other materials such as screws and stainless bolts... here 's the pictures... hope you like them.... ![]() ![]() ![]() |

it's sturdy and tough but a bit rough and should do the work just fine... I tried standing on it and jumped twice to see if it would give... its still here... thanks AKAkopa. cheers |

Looking good. I was going to build one this weekend, but it looks like the saw sits back a bit more than I like. My Dremel saw sits forward a bit on its stand and I'm really comfortable sitting at it. My Delta saw sits back just a bit making me lean forward slightly, which is uncomfortable on my back. This stand looks like it puts the saw back further than that. I do like how it tilts. Does that help??

Jim, yes it does help a lot, the original plan was a 30 degree angle on the tilt, which was too much for me, and I customed mine to tilt 15 degrees only. certainly made me see my cuts much better and it gave for better lighting as well(my scrollsaw doesn't have a light). I also customed the height so it will fit me in my computer chair so I can browse the forums while cutting. I suggest you go for it, it should save you from backpains... |
