Default A little advice required please

G'day all,
In this thread sanding tools I mentioned that Sanding Mops are not available in Oz.
George, Bob and Kevin gave me some great advice.
Well what they really did was motivate me to get of my bum and do some research
I sent an email to Klingspor asking if they would supply mops to OZ.
I have just received a reply "We do". No BS that was the reply email "We do"

So now I need some recommendations from folks who have used these as to which one I should lay some hard earned pennies on.

Thanks heaps for help.

John,
I have always made mine by cutting up used belt sander belts. I think they work great. Couldn't live without one.
I cut up a 6" x 48" belt to make one. Works great and lasts a long time.

John,

By the way, be careful how fast you spin them. The little tabs will eventually fly off and they hurt like hell when they scrape down your cheek.

John,
I went through the whole routine of buying the cloth sheet sandpaper and cutting my own since I already had the mandrels. To me it is NOT worth the hassle to cut my own. My shop time is limited.
I now buy the refills from Kligspore. I have one with 120 and the other with 220 grit. And when they are worn out I use the inner fresh bits to do sanding on my lathe or cut them for use on my Fein sander.

This is a rough sketch of an idea.
You have to start somewhere.

Hi John,
I also have tried making my own and I also feel it is not worth the time and effort. I would recommend a 120 grit and a 220 grit. If you can only get one then maybe a 150 grit. IMHO anyway.

Hey John

These are the best sanding mops out there IMHO.
Not sure if they ship down under but check them out.

To speed things up: I stack all the pieces and cut the tabs on the band saw.
