Hey Sodie, Welcome to the group, I'm sure your gonna have fun here. Try doing a search on Google, Yahoo or any search engine, just type in "Sanding Mop" and you will see loads of places to buy them. oops99

Sodie - Klingspor's has sanding mops and the mandrels they fit onto. In their newest catalog, which I just ordered from (got the order in two days) the sanding mops are on p 50. phone # 1-800-228-0000 or you can order on line at www.woodworkingshop.com . They are good people to talk to and very helpful if you have questions. I don't work for them by the way. I have not seen them in any other catalog. John B. - I don't know if they ship to Australia but you could call and find out.

Check this place out..... http://www.nicks.ca/sanding.html Seems to be pretty reasonable on price as well.

hello- you might want to try making one. buy a couple of machine bolts say 1/4" and 3/8" then cut the hex bolt head off. you are now left wth threads on one end and the smooth shaft on the other. put two nuts on the end closest to the smooth shaft place a lockwasher in between. now add a washer. then place sand paper or aluminum oxide cloth on the shaft, add another washer and put a nut on the bottom. for the sanding paper a hole punch from a staionary store will do. i get good results from harbor freight aluminum oxide abrasion cloth. i also use a heavy sandpaper like a d weight. cut strips about 1 inch by 3 or 3.5 inch. a hole in the center and space them like hands on a clock. i then cut fringes in the ends, about 1 inch in say 3-4 cuts with a scissor. if you want to get more durability i glue the strips back to back then slice. you can sandwich foam sanding sponges in them as well. put in drill press and your good to go. give it a try. the blank mandrels are for sale in automotive stores for cut off wheels as well. experiment with what works for you. doug

If you make one using a bolt as mentioned, you will be much happier if you start with a bolt with left handed threads. Dale
