Yes you right, the voice like it needs oil but I wonder why a new machine needs oil?It should be oiled before it sold shouldnt it?

My back-up saw is a Dremel 1800 and I don't know if I understand the "voice" reference either. I do know that maintenace is required for any saw but you shouldn't need to oil anything on a new saw.

It is worth a call to the Dremel folks, I know my past experiences with their customer service rivaled that which RBI offers, both are polite and responsive to their customer's needs.

I had 3 Dremel 1800 18" scrollstations with the same problem, 6 shipping costs at their expense. Dremel sent me a check for the purchase price after the third one. I can understand mabey 1 saw but 3 in a row. Seems like they are not testing their machines. My first saw was a Delta 16", the bearings were not lubricated at the factory and I was finding brass shavings. I returned it to the store and recieved a new one, which I have had for 9 years. I also had a knock on the first Dremel I purchased, sent it back, they claimed it was a piece of wood stuck between one of the arms. I already knew what the problem was. The lower arm was hitting the frame at higher speeds.
