There is a woodworking show coming to my town (Baltimore) in January. I am in the market for a good scroll saw and was wondering which saws would most likely be on display at this show. I used to go to these shows (known as "The Woodworking Show") in the late '90s and there were always reps for the Hegner, RBI and PS Machines. I was wondering if this has changed. I am also considering the Excalibur EX21 and Dewalt 788. Has anybody been to one of these shows recently? I was planning on buying a new saw before the new year, but for tool that I intend to use for a long time, it would really make sense to "try before I buy". Thanks, Alan

The only ones I have seen at TWC's in Milwaukee were Hegner, PSwood, and the Dewalt demoed through the Woodcraft booth. There wasnt even one delta scrollsaw at the show in Mil., RBI was a no show, and there was no Excaliber . The show was right at Excals.changeover, but I think the General tools dealers there probably will have them. The shows are somewhat geographical, their website may be of more help with a list of vendors. Dale

I go to the show every January in Indianapolis. Last year the scroll saws were DeWalt, Excaliber, PS, Hawk, and (I think) Hegner. None were through Woodcraft or Rockler.

As it gets close to the time of the show you should be able to check the show website to see who is coming. Last year at the show in Tampa there were no scroll saws. The year before both Hawk and Hegner were there. Earl |
