I have a cheap ryobi, with a non tilting mdf top. Its noisy but works for me. If I were to get a more decent one, a true spindle sander (I consider mine a hobby sander, not something that would take tons of hours of use), I would definatly choose the Jet over the Delta. Dale

I second Dale's choice. I am waiting for my cheapy to go and then it will be the Jet. I've already did research on it so am prepared when the need arises.

Jet also has the 1/4 spindle which I find I use the most for intarsia's. The others only go to 1/2".

I have the Delta spindle sander and I don't know what I would do without it! it goes from a 1/2 inch sanding sleeve to 3 inches.... I've had it for 2 years now and it's been used on every project I have done.. it's well worth the $185..... ![]() Trout |

Thanks to input from Jeff when this subject was discussed once before, I bought the Jet. I am glad I did, it is well made and the 1/4 inch spindle has been very useful.

That's the biggest selling point to me. They all work, some a bit better than others, but only one has the tiny detail spindle and that is the jet.

I just bought my Jet spindle sander last week and I already love it!!! I have only done one project where I needed it so far, but found the tilting table and the 1/4 inch spindle both valuable. Before buying it, I did quite a bit of research and it came down to either the Delta or the Jet. Even though it was more money, I chose the Jet because of the tilting table and the quality construction.
