I picked up an RBI Hawk 212 for $40 at pawn shop because they didn't know how to operate it and assumed it was broken. As far as I can tell, it's simply missing the blade clamps, but I'm not sure. I don't know what a blade clamp really looks like, and if I'm correct, I'm only missing the bottom one. When I got the saw, I contacted RBI to see if they had any parts, or even the manual for it. I got a response from Keith Cupples stating that it was one of their first models, and they no longer had any support for it whatsoever, not even a manual. I'm hoping that there is someone here that has a 212 and can help me get it up and running, and possibly even scan or copy the manual for me. Since RBI no longer prints it, and they have a great CS reputation, I assume it wouldn't cause any problems with them to copy it for me. The saw itself is pretty simple - it's a square table design (not round or teardrop, like most others), and made out of steel and aluminum. There is no cast iron on this thing at all. The name plate reads: rbindustries, Inc. 1801 Vine St P.O. Box 369 Harrisonville, Missouri 64701 Model No. Serial No. 212 1167 The nameplate on the motor reads: If anyone has any information about this saw whatsoever, I would greatly appreciate any help you can give me.Fasco Industries, Inc. Yes , Rick Hutcheson is a good source of knowledge on such things. You could also try http://www.owwm.com/ They have been known to help out many people with parts and manuals for outdated equipment . W.Y. |

I am a member of OWWM, but I didn't post anything there because I didn't think this saw qualified as "Old Arn". I'll give it shot, but I thought I would have better luck here. Thanks! -sloe |

Whilst browsing around today, I remembered that the OWWM guys have a "guideline" that a machine qualifies if it is 20 years old or more. Does anyone have any idea of the years this machine was built? -sloe |

Sloe, I know you have called RBI but maybe with a serial number they could give you an idea of the year. Mike C |

OK, RBI comes through again! I called and spoke with Mark McCandless today, and he was as surprised as I was that there are still 212s in circulation - he confirmed that it was the first model under the Hawk name, likely built in 1987. He confirmed that I am more than likely only missing the lower blade clamp which is available for $9 from them, and he was able to dig up a manual and scan it for me. I finally have an operator's manual for the Hawk 212, so if someone else is looking, let me know. -sloe |

Sloe, I would really like to see a picture of this saw, could you possibly post one. I am glad RBI could help you out. Mark has been very helpful to me in the past.

Hi, I've got one. I've just inherited a mess of tools from my father in law and this rbi is one of them. Pretty much unused...as new. Anybody interested? I don't do much with a scroll saw. -CS |

CS, "Anybody interested? I don't do much with a scroll saw." You will just have to change that. It is a wonderful hobby.
