Default Pop's new scrollsaw!

I've been after one of these for a while now and just never seem to be at the right spot at the right time. I believe this was up for auction for about 3-4 hours before I saw it and bought it outright. I'm not sure whether the seller had his post correct or not but his 'buy it now' price and the starting price were THE SAME. Maybe he wanted to put the Buy-it-now at a higher price but made a mistake. Anyway... it's mine now! It's a Millers Falls 'Cricket' Saw. Circa 1887. Originally sold for $2.50!!! The left side of the pedal is broken off but there. I can either braze it back on or go to the local tech school and see if a youngster needs a shop project to either braze it or cast me another one. It even has the grinding wheel, drill bit holder, belt and original pin striping! I'm not excited.... MUCH!!!

That is very cool! What kind of belt is on that saw?

I saw that auction. Could not believe the price also but too expensive to have it shipped here. Great purchase that was.

Once I get it cleaned up I'll post some pictures of an original "Quick change" blade holder. They were pretty smart back then too. Then..... after about a months worth of using it to saw, my legs should be big enough to run in a marathon....
