I want to start scrolling and know I will like it. That said would the Dremel 1800 be a good saw to buy and not out-grow in a yaer or so? I would like the dewalt but can't afford it and still stay in the house. Any advice would be helpful |

the dremel is an ok saw, but for the money I would save up and just do the dewalt, I have had both. when all was said and done i would have been better off putting the 250 - 300 on the purchasw of my dewalt. This is my opinion. although I think i would see if i could try scrolling somewhere close by first to see if i liked it for sure, before coughing up the money for something I might think I would like, although if you are like the rest of us you'll be hooked right away... If a DeWalt is out of your budget, then the Dremel 1800 or a Delta SS350 are your best choices in my opinion. I started with the Delta and upgraded to the DeWalt after a couple years. In fact I've decided to sell my Delta, if you happen to live in Oregon PM me. I think either of these saws would do you for awhile, and others on the forum have used them for a lot of years. Chris

Thanks for the advice. I just got an offer from Sears and bought the DW788 2 minutes ago. Free shipping, clearance and discount (craftsman club) it came to $372 to my door. WOW! I can't wait to start.
