Default Any Dewalt 788 general maintenence?

Having got my new dewalt 788 I would like to know if there is any general maintenece I need to do on it. I realise the on/off switch needs to have a bit of compressed air through it, or vaccumed out, every now and then. I like to regularly vacuum around my saws anyway. But what about oiling?

No oiling that I know of. I read that you have the foot pedal. What you should do then is put some saran wrap or some type of press and seal wrap on top of the on/off switch. That's what I did to mine and it saves a lot of maintenance.

The tension cam might use some lube in a few years. Its described on Rick's website.

The front end is all sealed ball bearings so no lube is needed there.

I didn't think I needed to do much with it but its reassuring that others say so too. Thanks, all.

A piece of "one use" disposal rubber gloves work well for this purpose.

Wax the table often with a non-silicone wax. If you dont have any, I can send you a can of Johnsons paste wax. dale

Dale, I do keep it pretty slippery by using a Bostik product, Topcoat.

Didn't know that it was important to wax the table. Have never done mine. I guess I will shop around for non silicone wax.

I've been operating my DeWalt for over twelve years....and over a quarter-million puzzle pieces....with no maintenance except to dust it off. I do not wax the surface. It makes it too slippery and difficult to control in tight turns approaching 180 degrees.
