I have a Makita SJ401 that uses the screw-type blade clamps. I recently read that there are kits available to retro fit older scroll saws with quick release blade kits. I visited the Makita web site and could find no mention of them, does anyone know if they are available as a universal kit or model specific...and if so where would these be available? thanks for reading the post - hope you can help. Derrick... use the search in this forum to find my thread/post on "Quick change for blades". It covers a QC II kit I bought and installed on my old Delta. I thinnk the kit cost around $35

Hi Derreck, if Makita still has their toll free customer service number I would call them to see if they have an updated blade clamping system. It is possible that they do not have that info updated on their site. If you can not find that info just pm or enail me. I have a couple ways that I can find some info from Makita although it may take me a few days. Steve

You could try http://www.pozsgaidesigns.com/page0006.htm Frank Pozsgai has some. Not sure of the response though. I have never had a reply to emails.

Not to down Frank P. but the very first quick release he shows on his site for $46.95 looks exactlty like the one I bought from Wildwood (T250) for $26.95. It's your wallet... I love it. I also made a tool to turn the spiral blades to fit the quick release blade holder.

Derreck, you could call Wildwood at 1-800-848-4363 and ask them if their T250 kit will fit a Makita saw or call Pozsgai's at 1-800-872-2803. I thought those kits only fit the older model Deltas. States in their catalog that they are for Delta 16", 18" and 20" saws.
