Question DeWalt 788 Stand

I was thinking of building a wooden knock-down stand for my second 788. Shop space is limited and it will only be brought out during the Christmas rush when my wife likes to get involved in scrolling. Anyone tried building a wooden stand that can be easily disassembled for storage?

If that is the only time she uses it maybe you can just set it on your workbench!!

Good idea Chuck, but I hate to give up my bench space. I might just buy another stand and dissassemble it after the holidays. Thanks for the input.

Default Workmate

Good Idea, I will have to try that and see if it is stable enough.

If the workmate doesn't work out for you, take a look at the Husky portable work stand at Home Depot if there is one near you. It is a square top with X shaped legs and is extremely sturdy and also folds up nicely when you don't need it.

I have 2 of the Husky portable work stands when I first bought my DeWalt I tried using one do not try using the DeWalt on them they set up a vibration that makes scrolling impossible and are very wobbly

A couple of the guys bring the Workmates to our club meetings they seem to be heavy enough and work just fine. The added benifit is that you can use it for other projects not just the scroll saw.
