I have a 1948 sears scroll saw 24" Model #103.23440 with operator manual that says there is no need for blade tension . It has a upper and lower blade guides similar to a bandsaw. The blade rides in a fine slot in the blade guides. Has anyone had experience with this type of saw? The saw is a pararell arm and it runs as smooth as silk with no vibration what so ever. Thanks John in Union Grove Wisconsin.

That saw sounds like a real antique. You will probably be able to find a lot of information on it HERE And also from a person that has a large collection of scroll saws HERE W.Y.

cool John. Does it use blades with the flat ends? You know, you are still welcome to come out and use one of my saws whenever you get a chance. Dale

Thanks Bill& Dale: It is a 1948 Craftsman made by the King Seeley company in Ann Arbor Mich. I bought it from a friend who never used it. I have not sawn on it yet it is missing the lower blade guide. I'll make a new one a simple fix. It does run extremely smooth. If it doesn't work out for me I will donate it to the scouts or 4H after I get it fixed. I only paid 35.00 for it, the stand alone is worth twice that. Dale I left a message on your phone but you must of been away this past weekend, maby during the week after 6:30?
