I read in other posts about poor customer service becoming more common, so I thought I would give a good report. I had a Dremel variable speed tool for several years when it seemed the switch went bad. It would work at a certain setting and then it stopped working at all. I read the guarantee, but could not tell for sure if it was still under warranty. I sent it in anyway and according to their website saw that there was a minimum charge for repairs, etc. After I shipped it off I decided to buy another one as I needed one. I found a two speed on sale at a local hardward and bought it. It had a strange sound from the beginning, but as it was a different model thought it must be normal. A friend told me it was a bad bearing, so off to the post office again. In the meantime the first one came back repaired at NO CHARGE, and in less than two weeks at that. Soon the second one came back repaired again at no charge. I keep a different size sanding drum on each tool now so am instantly ready to change according to the need at hand. Dremel provided fast service to me with no charges! Am I dreaming or what?

It's always nice to hear good reports. As they say, if something goes wrong, 100 people will hear about it, but if something goes right, very few hear about it. Kudos to dremel for their customer service.

I agree. Dremel has is among the best for support. I have owned many Dremel tools for more years than I care to think of and their support has always been fantastic. If I had or have the occasional problem all I have to do is take the offending article to their customer service center and in a matter of minutes it is repaired and or replaced. Only one time was I charged for anything. A flexible shaft that was many years old failed and they charged me for a new one. Recently I was there checking out new products and was very interested in two of their new Moto Tools. I was told by the lady I was talking to that I could probably get them cheaper at Home Depot and before I bought them from Dremel to check that out. She was right and I save about $30.00. You simply can't beat Dremel. I also have to say the same thing about rbindustries. (Hawk). Their support is also absolutely fantastic!!!

Ditto, my Dremel 1800 I have in the shop was tended to rather quickly when I called them folks a few years ago. Between them and the customer service I have had from Hawk I think the competition has alot to learn from both those companies. Glad to hear they took care of you.

Ditto on my Hawk experiences. On a slightly different note. I have a big mushroom roof fan (2 speed) I went to turn it on and it was too quiet so sure enough it was seized and out of waranty. I called the company to ask how I go about ordering a new motor. Her response " what is your address?" that was it. No muss no fuss at my door in about a week free!. I think the company is now owned by Certainteed.

If only the people who have bad customer service would see this and realize how much good customer service would benefit them.
