Default What DeWalt says about the doohickey

Diane - great question, so I looked. If you check out this web page http://www.toolpartsdirect.com/cgi-b.../DW788_TYPE_1/ (I hope that works - first time I've tried to paste a link), it shows up on the diagram as part #125 and is called a "Pad". So I say it's supposed to be there. But I still think my table adjusts better without it.
