Default Delta 40-570

I have the opportunity to buy a used Delta 40-570 and would like some feedback from other Delta owners who may have used this model. It looks just like the SS350 as far as I can tell. I did some searching on the internet for some reviews and they seem to be mixed. Some people (for magazine reviews) say it's a good saw, and others (scrollsawyers like us) say it vibrates too much and is a bit noisy. I know Delta makes quality saws and there are a lot of satisfied owners, but if there is anybody out there who has some experience with this model and can share some info I would really appreciate it.

Jim, the model 40-570 is the SS350. Try www.scrollsaws.com. Rick may be able to give you some good advice. I have the next model up from the 350 and love it, the P-20. I have looked at the 350 in stores and it seems to have a small table. Depends on what you want to saw, if you plan on using it a lot I would go for the P-20 which is just under $500. The P-20 is about twice as heavy as the 350 and you won't get the vibration you get on the smaller saws. Good luck with which ever saw you choose.
