Default Back to square 1

Very frustrating.

After a few months "off" due to vacation / other life events I went back this weekend to make a puzzle and...I suck again.
It came out as if I never cut a puzzle in my life.

Just when I was starting to put Carter to shame with my skills...

Some of us are just a little better at it then others. (Sucking that is...LOL)

You probably needed to take more breaks. That seems to help me when stuff starts to go wrong. My concentration needs a coffee break. Then everything clicks in just right.

Don't give up!

Me too Red. I haven't cut one in several months and had to throw out the two I started last week. Practice makes perfect and it seems that we are both out of practice. Oh well, I'll try again this week and not get so fancy; larger pieces, no color line cutting etc..

Keep at it Red...You will get the knack again i no time..Imagine how I felt after 6 months away from the saw..It was like I had never used one...It takes a little time but before long you will be a happy camper again.

Default don't give up!!

For what it's worth - and I'm just a brand new puzzle cutter - when I haven't sat down at the saw in awhile, and EVERY time I put in a new blade, I pick up a scrap without a picture on it and warm up. It seems to make a difference. Then those first few pieces where the blade seems to want to have it's own way and probably be disagreeable are just scrap, so no loss. Once the blade starts behaving in a reasonable manner, I turn to the real piece.

Now you may not believe this Big Red , but when I've been away from the big yellow machine for a while it tends to make me a little rusty. So do some practice work to help work out and clean up the rusty areas ............Marshall
