Talking My 1st Jigsaw Puzzle

Here is my first cut out jigsaw puzzle, it has 75 pieces and I cut it freehand. It took me about 4 blades breaking to figure out how to use them. The puzzle is 10" x 8" and is from a calender I just got in the mail. Please look at the back and let me know what I did or didn't do right please... Thanks

Looks pretty good to me, Mike! At first it looked to me like you were making a strip-cut puzzle, but as I look more closely, I think you cut, at least a good part of it, piece by piece. Am I right?

I like the colorful picture, too. Keep them coming!

I cut it all piece by piece except the left side border as best I could for the first time cutting freehand. The blades is what through me for a minute but I think I figured it out, How fast should the blade be going? I am cutting at about 1/2 - 3/4 speed on my Dremel 1830.

I'm not really sure what that means as I have a Dewalt. I don't think there is really an answer, though. Everybody's preference is different. Just use a speed which feels comfortable.

Also, with puzzle plywood, every species cuts differently, so you may find yourself adjusting your speed from time to time.

Personally, I prefer the slower range of speeds on my DeWalt, especially when doing Figurals. No need to run he saw too fast.

Great job Michael, I feel lucky when a blade breaks instead of "running away", LOL
