I recently finished this jigsaw puzzle a day after the 4th of July. The picture, which I used from a calendar I purchased, depicts an early American home and farm. The horses are being tended to and children are flying kites in the fields. I cut this puzzle as a gift for a family member. "Americana" is cut from 1/4" oak ply and has 497 pieces. There are 44 Figurals and 9 Picture Elements, 53 "special pieces" in all. I worked on this puzzle over the course of several weeks. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

There is quite bit bit going on in this puzzle, but I'll try to highlight several of the special features. Several kite Figurals fly in the sky. I did some color line cutting in certain parts, some of which can be seen near the sun. ![]() Of course, you can't have a sunrise/sunset without a fiddler on the roof playing some music! ![]() The music notes are tiny little Figurals of their own. I couldn't resist the temptation to throw them in. The scary part was that these delicate notes were one of the last things I cut! ![]() And speaking of musicals, how could I leave those rolling hills alone in the background without Julie Andrews. You can see her spinning around on the top left. And speaking of famous people....that might be Benjamin Franklin flying that kite! It looks like there is a key attached to the string! Three ducks fly overhead, with the leader just out of camera shot. |

In the barn, a mama pig and her baby piglet shuffle around. Of course, you can't have a piglet without a spider! That's Some Pig! ![]() Not far away, another mother tries to keep her children in line. ![]() It appears that not every kite has had a glorious flight today! ![]() Anyone hungry for fish? |

In the fields, seven sheep graze happily. ![]() ![]() And here's a little boy sitting in a tree looking over it all. ![]() There's so much more going on in this puzzle, but I'll stop there. I really had fun cutting this one and I hope it brings enjoyment to others. Which reminds me..... Here's why it's all worth it! |

That's an amazing puzzle Shawn. A great deal of creative thought showing through here, the use and placement of the figurals is very creative. I hope the recipient is aware of all the work you've done. Thanks for sharing Marsha
