This is the church picture that I mentioned a while back that I was going to make up for our church bazaar this Fall. It's of the church I go to and it's 10" x 16" and has 231 pieces. Cut with Flying Dutchman FD-SP Puzzle blades. Has a few figurals and line cuttings which were fun, (thanks for the idea Carter) altho I almost screwed it up. Someone mentioned I should use a dry erase pen to mark out the figurals. Well, it don't work on photographs. It's just lucky I had some paint almost the exact color. You won't see it on the front of the puzzle insert but you can find it on the back. I reversed the picture so should be easy to find. It's in the right had front door. Well done, Pete. Thanks for sharing. That's a nice looking building Quote:
It's interesting though, as I almost exclusively cut photographs and haven't used a dry erase pen on anything else. I'm pretty sure I did say to test somewhere that didn't matter first though Actual results probably depend on the specific pen and paper the photo is printed on, and how long you leave the ink on (I don't draw until I'm ready to cut the figural out, and then erase it immediately). I have my photos printed at Costco, on Fujicolor Crystal Archive paper, usually with a lustre finish although some are glossy. --Rob | |

Really great! Don't get started loaning it to fellow churchgoers - you'll never get it back! Phun..... Carter |

Rob, I did test the idea out on a photo processed from the same place and it worked great. Not sure but suspect possibly the heat of the blade "fixed" it. But no harm done as the paint I have matches it almost perfectly to the point you really have to look to see where the pen marks are. Am thinking I'll try getting a fine point Sharpie and see if that is thinner than the kerf. If so I'll make the figurals and trace around them with that, or draw them freehand. To the rest of you. Thanks for the compliments. Still some things I think need improvement but it's acceptable so won't whine to much. PETE |

Thanks for all the compliments. They ARE appreciated. Especially from ones peers. Wood Dog, I didn't keep track of the amount of time as I worked on it off and on for over a week. If I was guessing I'd say 5 or 6 hours. Should keep track of the next one, altho it'll be in the 8x10 category, just to get an idea. PETE |
