I use a palm sander, one of those little pointy devils. The cloth has just enough give to allow the pieces to move up and down a little and it cleans them off slick as a whistle. A block of wood and sandpaper would probably be almost as fast. I don't do anything to the edges as I use fd puzzle blades and a fairly slow speed which produces quite a satisfactory edge for me. I change blades when I feel I am having to use excessive pressure to cut and have yet to break a single blade on a picture puzzle. Occasionally I do have to adjust tension. No two woodworkers ever do anything exactly alike I bet, and your system produces very good results obviously. Sometimes it seems I have spent half my life sanding and I avoid it whenever possible.

Woodgeek, The different approaches to scrolling are what make it interesting. I've picked up quite a few tips just reading the different areas on here, that have helped me a lot. Altho your tip might not help me it might be just the ticket for someone else. Pete |
