I finally found Sue Griffith's tree puzzle that I cut out in April. Buried it beneath a pile of patterns in the shop sometime this spring and it emerged after I cleaned up following the delivery of the 12 name puzzles friday. The kids loved them and so did the parents. One girl was overwhelmed because her name is never found on personalized items in stores so this was the first time she had ever had her name on a personal item. Back to the tree puzzle. I had cut it from 3/4 poplar with a #5 skip tooth blade(I think) and I used acrylic craft paint and spray shellac to finish it yesterday. As usual, all criticisms and comments are gratefully appreciated. george tree puzzle.jpg

Very nice! I'm working up the nerve to make that puzzle. I'm reasonably sure I can cut it out.........not the least bit sure I could put it together! Jan |

Hey George, Nice Job on the tree... When I did mine I used pine and stained the trunk and branches it looked a little more real with the grain and all but I couldn't find the right colors for the leaves. Your paint job is awesome all the way around!!! Nice work and like sue says...if you decide to give it to somebody make sure you take a picture of it and include it as well...otherwise it could take them a lifetime to figure it out ![]() for sharing your work...I always enjoy seeing it.Rick P.S. Oh yeah I'm glad the kids liked the names. I know how the one child felt about not being able to find her name...My friend Rayna has the same problem that's why I made her a Name Plate, Name Puzzle, and a Keychain...her and her sister Alysha (made same items for her also) should receive them tomorrow. Can't wait to here from them.
