Marsha I really like your puzzles. What type wood did you use? I am a beginning scroller (Dewalt 788 which I really like), I started just to make puzzles and toys for my one year old grandsons. All help is appreciated. Barry in Virginia |

Well, Martha, I will be sending these 4 puzzles out priority mail tomorrow (Fri the 24th). There is a little variety with them, I dont think they are to difficult for the age group you are targeting. Its a wonderful cause, and Im glad to have been able to help in a small way. Oh, the puzzles are a total of 3/8th inch thick (1/8th backer or tray, 1/4th actual puzzle).Painted with acrylics and clear coated. They are child safe. 8 1/2 by 11 inches. As for the painting, The only one I painted was the fruit shapes puzzle,my wife painted the rest. The bird and the dog were traced from online free coloring pages, the ice cream cone and the fruit were drawn up quickly by me.Its hard to tell in the pictures, but each piece of fruit is one piece, as is each flavor of ice cream.

Here are the two puzzles I promised for Martha's Christian Kindergarten. I got lucky when I was looking for pictures to use. Both came from coloring book covers I found in a local store. I thought the picture on this one was cute. It has 29 pieces, and I cut it from 1/4" Poplar with 1/4" Birch for the backing. I cut out a dove and a cross on top. Most pieces were cut along color lines to separate various components of the picture. ![]() ![]() This puzzle is of Adam and Eve. It has 31 pieces, and was cut from 1/4" Poplar with 1/4" Poplar for the backing. I cut a heart out on top. ![]() ![]() I hope your students enjoy them, Martha! I don't know if you have real small kids in the school, but some of the pieces are smaller in size and would be inappropriate for kids under 3yrs. The kindergartners should be fine if they are older. |

Here's some pics of the two puzzles I'm donating. These are my first attempts and I must say hats off to you guys and girls. I'm used to working with thick stock so the lack of blade resistance was a big surprise. Blade zipped through the wood... at its own will I might add. Nice learning experience.
