Great video! What do you use to attach the pattern to the wood? I may have asked before but lost track of where!

Aileen's Tacky Glue, spread thin and even with a plastic scraper. Then I watch it closely for a half hour or so to make sure I press down any bubbles that form.

Thanks Carter! That was fast. Do you use a decoupage or anything over top to protect the picture?

Hey, Janette, check out these instructions for some answers to your questions. I do use a Triple-Thick Glaze spray to provide a shine and protect the puzzle before I cut.....Have phun.....Carter

That would be toughy without a picture to go by. Never put one together with a hole in it.

Earl, I agree. that is so cool, wouldn't that look great , with a mirror in the back ground. I have seen this in quilting. it is called windowing. and also.
Carter. where do you get those great pictures to make your puzzels out of. I have been looking for this same thing to do carved eggs out of. you glue the picture on the egg, like a goos or austridg egg, I know spelling. and then cut out the window. and small frets. with a dimon tip rottery tool blade. sure would like to find some of these great pictures you use in your puzzels.

what a group. you all just amaze me. your friend Evie

Evie, the pictures are mostly all from calendars, in this case an 08 calendar by Susan Winget, who has many of them available at gift and book stores. There was an inspirational message of some sort in the center. I didn't need it to be inspired so I cut it out. It makes the puzzle a lot more phun.

Before I cut the pieces, I take a photo of the puzzle and reduce it in size to less than 4" square or so. I make my puzzles for families to put together, so I almost always provide a picture.
