Default pelican patterns

All you great pattern designers here's a challange. I really like details like the Jeff Z's patterns. If someone would like to take a shot at these it would be greatly appreciated. If you can't tell I'm a pelican freek.

Default Pelicans

Sgimbel, I could never ever hope to be as good as Jeff Zaffino but I have attached my try of the patterns for your consideration.

Hey Sam...your patterns look really good. If I may make a suggestion though? The shadow lines on the last pattern is blocking the face. I think if you took the shadow lines out the face would show up much better. Just a thought. You've captured the bird beautifully! Nicely done.

sgimbel, I am glad that you like the patterns. I am going to look at redoing the last one as I agree with Bubba's suggestion. I use a rather old program (Adobe Photoshop version 7) and have a Wacom tablet pen to edit with. There are several tutorials out there to help get started, from that point it is just trial and error until you get it down to your liking (which is never).

Bubba, thank you for the suggestion, it is help like that that keeps one learning more about what people want in a pattern.

Wow Sam, that second attempt on that last pattern is awesome. I'm sure glad you take constructive criticism well. Sometimes I hesitate to offer it but I have lots of your patterns that you have posted here and I know you care about results. What a super job!
