Attached is a picture of my stepson, who I want to make a portrait of for Christmas. Can someone out there help me out with a pattern. I would certainly appreciate it! ...... Marshall

Marshall, I will work on this for you during the first of the week. You being from "HOG" Country, I'm sure you know what I'm doing in a few miniutes. I will try and work on it some tomorrow. Maybe tonight, but depends, hopefully not. Hint!.

| Kevin and Chris thanks so much and I think that I'll start on this right after I finish my Christmas Oranments to do list for the Christmas season. But I have got to get this Portrait done before Christmas also....A big to do list , but I'll post this when I get the finished project done on the site ......Marshall

Marshall, Try Coral Draw 3x or 4x. Not too hard to figure out for converting photos to patterns. Look into home and student version, much less expensive..... Oily

Marshall you can also find free programs to try before you go and spend money on programs. The two I started with and still use sometimes is "gimp" for converting photos and "inkscape" for the other types of patterns as well as some photos. Now I use Photoshop Elements and Corel. Just thought it wouldn't be worth to spend money until you see if you really want to get into making patterns. Plus, with gimp and inkscape you can find "how-tos" on this fourm as well as other fourms and can even see "howto" videos on utube. I like gimp and inkscape for general use pattern making but of course if you plan on making a bunch of patterns you will want to get a paid program. But then again, there are a lot of designers who make a bunch of patterns with the free ones. Just an idea I thought you would like to maybe try.
