I want to make some monogrammed jewelry, specifically a necklace. I am trying, poorly, to make the monogram myself in MS Word, but it's not working out too well. Any ideas? Pendant will be approx. 1 1/2 inches in diameter. A monogramming program would be sweet, eh? Thanks. Rich |

Hi Rich - Tell us exactly what you want and I'm sure someone will design a pattern for you. What letter is in the monogram? What type of border for the letter? Square? Round? Oval? Super fancy?

Is this what you want to do? If so, Corel Draw is what you want to use. It's a powerful program with lots of bells and whistles.

well, I think round would be best, 1/4" border, not too fancy of a script, something where you can tell what the letter is without doing a lot of study............ MSWord is getting a bit easier, I'll post what I have when I get done. Thanks for your help and ideas, hope you have a very Merry Christmas!! Rich in VA |

Guess it comes down to what you want it to look like. I used Corel Draw 9 to make these sample with. Using the envelope tool you can shape the letters to fit the outline you want. It all just depends on how much work you want to put into making the pattern to get it looking the way you want it. Just changing the font as you can see makes a big difference in how it comes out. Changing the shape also makes it look different. What you like someone else may hate, so where do you finally say that you have a good enough pattern to use.

I use Paintshop Pro X2 and it's really simple to create things like pendants by using the preset shapes and fonts. Christina

What do you think of this "M"? 1.5" round - .25" border - plain "M"
