I used to use a graphics tablet. I thought it would be a boon.
Now I just use my mouse and a vector program.
It does have its uses and I guess if I stuck with it I guess it could have been more beneficial.

If you are tracing directly from a picture or a photo then I guess it would be ok.
I spent 69 bucks on mine. I am glad I didnt spend too much more.

I bought one on ebay a while back, but haven't used it much yet since it was way more complicated then I was expecting. I guess theres a learning curve and it takes some getting used to.
If I spent some times with it, it might come in handy though.

I use an older Wacom Graphire and couldn't live without it! The newer ones are better for sure, and once I wear this one out a larger and newer one will be high priority.

I opted for a Tooya..........works like the Wacom and it is less expensive and a generous size......almost the size of a piece of paper.

I hate it! It's too sensitive and I can't seem to dial it down a bit. I like making patterns much better with my mouse. Maybe because that's how I learned and what I'm used to.

I know many use a wacom and just love it. I think I'll stick to what is familiar to me though.

Hi Tony

I have a Wacom bamboo and I love it. I am not too bad with a mouse, but using a pen is much more controllable and an added bonus is you can thicken the lines by just applying extra pressure. It took about 10 minutes to learn (obviously it gets better with practice, but it really was easy).

I also use if for signing documents, proof reading homework and tracing and freehand copying.

As said above, they are not that expensive, give it a go!!!

Gosh, I want me one of them, But finances don't allow , for now. I have an old computer and I think I'll wait 'till I get a a new PC. I do alot of work between my computer and drawing table, and I'm guessiing a tablet would greatly improve my working time.
Have fun with your new toy, and let us know how it works out!

Aldi have the Wacom Bamboo graphics tablet on sale right now for less than £40. I bought one and it's super. It recognises my handwriting unerringly and it comes with Coreldraw Essentials Edition 3 plus Ulead Photoimpact 12. In my book, it's a bargain. I've used another make of graphics tablet before and couldn't get on with it; the Bamboo is in a different league and will get lots of use.
