Default Cant find pattern making software that works on pc

I have looked at several different types of pattern making software including corel draw and gimp but I can't find one that will work on my windows 98. Does anyone know where I can find software that will work on my pc?

There are some image editing programs from Serif that will work on Win 98

Vector Graphics, Illustration and Drawing Free Software Download - DrawPlus this is a vector based software but the upgraded version is only $9.99 and offers an autotrace feature.
Both are 98 compatable

There is also Photo Plus available but to get the more advanced features you need win 98SE
There is a list of other compatable software on the site

I'd look for PSP 8 or so on e-bay. You can get it fairly cheaply.

I would say it is time to upgrade your Windows 98. But that is just me. I think Coral software will work on 98

You might want to go to Kodak's website and download a free program called EasyShare ver. 7.1. It has basic editing and photo features including the ability to convert photos to "coloring book" which in my opinion (I freely admit I have limited experience with other graphic programs) works great for scroll saw patterns. 1st time I used the program I was able to create a pattern from a photo in less than an hour. You won't actually see the coloring book feature you need until you actually open the photo in the program but don't worry it is there. Yes I still use Windows 98 as I refuse to use Vista.

If you can find a copy of MGI Photo Suite ver. 3, it will work with Windows 98 also.

You could use the controls in Easyshare to remove the lighter lines or darken the heavier ones. I think you could save the file and then presumably modify with one of your other programs (I have not done this).
You could print the coloring book output and modify it with white out and pencil or pen and then recopy to make a finished pattern.
It might be helpful for you to think of the computer as an aid to making a pattern not as a pattern maker.
