Default Broke $1000

I realize this is nothing compare to some of you veterans, but I find it personally rewarding that I finally broke $1000 in sales. I started scrolling 6 months ago and started trying to sell my wares about 4 months ago. My restaurant sales have only amounted to 1 dog and John Wayne. Evidentally, it's not a prime location. It was the christian book and gift store that put me over the top. They just had a Friday night Christmas sale on everything in their store. The last hour was suppose to be everything discounted 50%. I told them "no way" with my stuff but they could reduce it 25%. In the last 45 minutes they sold everything I had. This included an eagle portrait, Jesus portrait, an inspirational indoor and an inspirational outdoor plaque (Jesus Got er Done), a praying hands plaque and 4 different crosses. Of course, after the 25% discount and the 20% consignment fee, it cut down on my profits. But what the hey. I enjoy it and I pretty much have my total investment back for everything including tools, pattns, materials, ( which I'm well stocked up on) and things I bought and didn't need. My hobby is paid for.

Big congrats Mike! We all scroll for the fun and of course anything extra to apply towards more supplies just makes it that much sweeter. This hobby by and large does pay for itself.
As far as the sales not being so good at the restaurant, well obviously the customers don't have much in good taste (or they would be buying your work) so I kinda question the quality of the food.......

Mike I know the feeling! Isn't great? Wait till you sell stuff and it is a direct profit as your investment in stock had been covered already by your other sales. It only gets bettter!

Hey, Mike, that's terrific! I've been wondering how you've been doing.

My own career has been sketchy. Google hasn't indexed my site yet (!!) so I started advertising, and sold $500 the first week even after turning down 3 orders for various reasons, so I thought I was on a roll. Then it went dead for a couple of weeks, but today I sold two small puzzles and turned down an order due to a short lead time (fellow wanted a custom puzzle tomorrow).

Just hang in there and word will spread. You'll have people going to the bookstore for your woodwork rather than for books. By the way, do you put a label on your products?

That sounds like a pretty good start, Pete. Just grinning here at the thought of someone who wanted a custom puzzle for the next day - come on you don't need sleep do you? Mind me asking where you advertised/
