Default A different kind of show

A very good friend of mine who is a Celebrating Home vendor, talked me into joining a local business group. It is mostly home party vendors and a few crafters. No cost to join, so I signed up. Tomorrow we are doing a show at a company office conference room who rents most of the commercial spaces around the airport. This is a Christmas in July Show (BobD, note) and is the second one. They did the first last year and attendance was beyond expectations. My fee for tomorrow? Bring a "finger food snack" for the shoppers to enjoy while shopping. These type of shows seem to be growing in this area as people can go to them on their lunch time and it leaves their Sat free to do other things. I will let you know how it works but it is something for you to consider if you are looking for "something different" for a show.

Sounds interesting, Betty. And food does draw people over to the booth! Good luck tomorrow and let us know how it works out.

Please let us know how it works out. It may have a niche here in the south as well.

It was an ok show. Some did really well, some didn't. I came away with $200 in special orders, so for a $6.99 entry fee I did 28 times my entry fee!!! LOL We are chatting by our special facebook site and are thinking of doing a "Heck with the Malls" holiday show. All of us got invitations to do a street fair in May, which is in an exclusive area around here and what we all really wanted. Looking forward to that one.

Update on my $6.99 entrance fee show. Seems my info was forwarded to a group in Northern VA. Getting tons of info on shows in that area. Also got another order from last week and the group is planning some sort of "Heck with the Malls" event in Oct/November. Should be interesting.
