Nope...Can't tell you what you should charge as your location will dictate your prices. however, that being said I charge $6.00 for ones that have no fretwork. If i embellish them I charge $8-$10.00 depending on complexity of cutting. I personalize them for $10.00. BTW I stack cut most of mine.

I made some out of walnut and maple 1/2 inch thick from a pattern by Steve Good. Charged 7$ for them. Funny thing, at a craft show I did it seemed like only people over 50 yrs old knew what they were. Guess you can't use em in a microwave! Terry's Scroll Shoppe |

I make mine from hardwood scraps using patterns by Bubba from Tennessee (see the pattern vault) and charge $5 each. You're right Terry, only us seniors know what they are but with a bit of explanation about reducing burns, even the youngsters buy them. george

I have a hardwood oven puller shaped and painted like an Amish lady. I paid $12 for her at an Arts & Crafts show.

Do you'll think Poplar would hold up for a oven puller, I have some 1/2" Poplar I was thinking about using.

I have made them from Poplar and it works well. If there are narrow/fragile spots I'd recommend 3/4" thick though. You can always laminate (glue up) 2 pieces together for more thickness.
