Wondering how much you charge for this type of work. I have done this one as a gift for a friend and now someone else wants one to buy but I don't know how much to charge. It's my Charlie Chaplin. Was done on 1/8" bb 8x10 inches. Here is a picture of the first one I did from the gallery. ![]() also how much do you charge for a picture to portrait in the same size 8 x 10 thanks Diane

I'm going to make an honest guess. I do not have anything to base my price on other than a hunch. I would take the cost of the wood, frame and finishing materials and add $25 to cost. If that would be too much for your customer to pay than I would forget about doing the project. I see no point in doing something for next to nothing, unless it's for a friend.

I charge 29.95 unframed..Add 10.00 for frame plus shipping. Portraits are much more..I now charge $75 for portraits..and that isn't really enough..

I think you could command a nice $ for picture to portrait work. Designing the picture could take quite a bit of time. I would assign a fee for the design work and a second fee for the actual cutting and finishing. Maybe $25 - $50 just to design the portrait. Base the cutting and finishing charge on my last message. Doing such work could become expensive to buy, but where else is the customer going to go to have this type work done? Whatever you charge, don't cut yourself short.

Thanks for the answers. It was along what I was thinking but wanted to make sure I was not undercharging for this. Diane

G'day Diane, That's a nice cutting. This may not help much, but I have those style cuttings ranging from $45 - $80 depending on the complexity of the cut. Charlie, I would probably have marked at around the $50.00, but you must consider that I also always stack cut at least 2. If I had a special request and it was a cutting that I probably wouldn't be able to sell another of I'd whack another 50% on so Charlie would become $75.

| Oh no, not a software problem Wood Dog. Did you make any changes to your computer lately? BTW - The picture is still there, so looks like you just might have a bit of a problem.

Picture is still there so the problem is at your end WD John: yes I did stack cut 2 of the Charlie. It was a present for my dance teacher the year we did a Charlie Chaplin dance and the second one went to the assistant that helped with the practices. I will stack cut 2 again and I am sure the second one will sell. Thanks for the input. Diane

Ok got the picture now, something must have happened when the generator did its self test. I had to restart my computer. Your project looks very nice Diane, I don't sell anything so I would have no idea what to charge, but make sure you get enough for your time too.
