Default Argh!!!! What a day

Well, I did a show today as a filler. I didn't have high hopes but I had an open weekend and figured a couple hundred bucks couldn't hurt. Well, I sold a whopping $56. All of my sales were ornaments. Of course, it was a $40 show so I didn't expect very much. On top of this, it got very windy in the afternoon. Around 2:30 my canopy decided it no longer wished to stand up. 3 of the cross-members snapped and one corner collapsed. I caught it, and a couple of fellow crafters came over and grabbed it while I pulled everything out of the booth. Fortunately, I got everything out without damage. This was my last outdoor show of the season thankfully so I don't need a new canopy until next April or so.
The upside is that the furniture store on the corner wants to have an exhibit (and hopefully sell some) of my work. A local arts' guild/gallery also asked me to display a piece or 2. So, the day wasn't a total loss but boy am I glad it's over (I knew better but I did it anyhow).

I know how that goes Kevin, even in the big tent we were in, the corners weren't lashed good and things got blown around some. On the upside it looks like things will come out good.

Sorry you had such a rough time, but at least it was the last outdoor show of the season. Hope your exhibit more than makes up for it--at least something good came out of it.

Kevin - I've had many times in my life that "I knew better but I did it anyhow". Some were fun some were not. (smile)

Hehehe, well, I received a call from another crafter who was there who does painted wooden signs. I now have a wholesale agreement to provide her with unfinished wooden blanks in a variety of shapes and sizes. So, while the show itself was a bust, this one agreement could be worth 1000's of dollars annually.
