Default Pumpkin Festival in Seymour CT

Saw Kevin's booth at the Pumpkin Festival. Boy, that man can cut! I cannot imagine doing such intricate work. It was nice to see his booth full of potential customers, which shows that people still appreciate quality. Way to go, Kevin!

Glad to hear he was knee deep in lookers anyway...I'm envious you got to meet him in all his gory at a show surrounded by his art.

I think Jediscroller is always like that!

Congrats on meeting Kevin, I'd bet he's as nice in person as he is online.

It was a treat seeing you again Carole (and seeing your bowl in person was a treat too!). While sales were not as brisk as I would've liked they were still ok. I hope your family enjoyed their day there.
Today is a recovery day (anyone who does shows regularly can tell you how tiring it is). My favorite customer comment from this show was from an elderly woman. She told her friend that it was nice to see a "true craftsman" at an event. In talking with her, I found out that her grandfather was from Germany and he had done fretwork in his day. I had one young fellow (12 or so) spend a lot of time in my booth, I just love the reaction of kids to stuff. I saw him counting his money and looking at one of the ornaments. Turns out he really liked them but didn't have quite enough. He was very polite and complimentary as well. You guessed it....I asked him how much he had to spend, he had $5 so I let him have an ornament of his choice for that price. He left with a huge smile (I have to admit I also felt pretty good). I had one customer come in and just about buy out my entire stock of puzzles which was a surprise as these aren't normally big sellers for me. An elderly couple purchased one of my Oriental Peacocks which was also a surprise as folks in that age bracket tend to buy clocks and such but rarely wall art.
As far as me in all my "gory," well, I never claimed to be a model, just a woodworker, hehehehe.

Well, I don't think you're "gory" at all (even thought it was a Halloween themed event). Actually, I think you're quite nice.

Seriously, your booth stood out among all the commercial stuff, for having objects that were not just handmade, but beautifully done.

However, my favorite blade is still the FD-UR9, and I'm not likely to trade that in for a 2/0 any time soon. I like being able to see which way the points go.
