Not to mention that if someone has a laser scroll saw, they'd best watch out for their fingers.....lol.

Bob, I agree with you as to what it is called. Those laser cutters are not for an ARTIST, they are completely out of the hands of the operator. ON the other hand, if it is just a laser insted of a blade, you would still be cutting the same as with our traditional scrollsaw. Guy's like Mikes Workshop would be out of business, though. It would be interesting to see a scrollsaw with a laser in place of the blade. I'm sure we would burn a few spots now & then though, when you hesitate your wood piece. I think I'll stick to my bladed 788 for a long time. I hope. I will always want to create something, even with a paint brush or pencil. It's all by hand ! Things are getting out of hand here in the U.S. Go to Wal-Mart for instance, & all you find there is made in China, Bangledesh, Pakistan or even the Phillipines !! I think it's great that we still like ART, in all it's forms. NOT LASER'S EITHER. Enough said. I quit. -- Perk

Just thought of something else....if the laser's strong enough to cut wood...wouldn't it be strong enough to burn skin and bone? All of a sudden, a scroll saw with a "laser" blade is no longer as safe to use... Bob

I wanna see a feature in the mag about scrollers providing corrective eye surgery with their new-fangled laser saws!
