New business - Scroll Saw Woodworking & Crafts Message Board

Hi all,
This is my first posting and I've seen some great ideas in this forum. Anyway, I've been scrolling for about 3 years off and on. I'm getting close to retirement and have been thinking about opening a small scroll shop in my hometown. I vision giving beginners lessons, selling and repairing saws, and providing a consignment outlet for my fellow club members.
I know I'm not going to make a bunch, but this would get me out of the house.
Any thoughts???

If the rents reasonable on the premises, and you can afford to pay it, go for it.
You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

good luck on your venture todd,i have considered trying too make a bit of a bussiness myself in scrolling,i do a lot of potrait work,but i find it slow going and unfortunatly being unemployed it would be foolish to rely on it soley.luckily your circumstances are toatly different,so i would say go for it and good luck...
