Default Different Tactic at show

Today was day 1 of my 2 day show. As I was unpacking, I decided to leave the cheaper baskets in my bins and put up the more expensive ones to see what would happen. Quantity wise, I didn't sell as many baskets as last year, but $$ wise I was only $50 less than last year!! They still liked my baskets and took the "cheaper" ones I had on the table, the least expensive being $20. The crowd was way off today compared to last year and I am anxious to see what happens tomorrow. I also tried puzzles this year. I did the elephant, cat & butterfly puzzle that was in the special issue. I sold each for $10 and considering the elephant was only 3 pieces and took me all of 10 minutes to cut & finish, that's a pretty good return!! The butterfly & cats took me 15 minutes each. GO FIGURE! I certainly can't figure these people out! Will let you know how tomorrow goes!!

Betty

There's never any figuring on what people will buy. If I can't sell something at the price it's at, I tend to raise the price next time and will generally sell. It's all in perceived value. If something doesn't sell for a long time, I would rather donate it to a charity than lower it to a ridiculous price. People will wonder...how come that one is 200 and this one is only 50? In their minds it means one is overpriced rather than the other being under priced.
