Default Classifieds

Hi Gang,
We've just launched the Classifieds section (click on the link in the left column to see it).

We're still testing it out, but I wanted to give you a chance to try it out.

A few rules!!!

1. No commercial posts. If you are running a business selling patterns, blades, tools, etc., do not post a classified ad. It will be deleted.

2. No patterns. If you create and sell patterns, that's a commercial business. If you have a pattern you'd like to sell, unless you are selling the origional pattern you bought from someone and have no other copies of the pattern (that you could use to cut another project) you do not have the right to sell the pattern. I don't have time to check on something like that, so I do not want to see people posting patterns for sale in the Classifieds.

3. Hold up your end of the bargain. Fox Chapel and Scroll Saw Woodworking and Crafts will not be liable if someone posts a misleading ad or doesn't pay for something they bought. It's up to the buyers and sellers to police themselves. Keep it between the buyers and sellers and use common sense when buying or selling something.

4. Keep it on target. Keep your products for sale related to the categories we've set up. Don't post cars or houses for sale. Keep it somehow related to scrolling, woodworking, or pattern making. If I'm missing a category, just let me know.

5. No Spam. If you join the forum just to be able to sell your items (especially if its totally unrelated to scrolling or woodworking) it will be deleted.

6. All posts require approval. If you make a post, it won't appear until I approve it. This is new for us, so I'll be approving ALL of the posts until we can work out any bugs.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Best regards,
Bob Duncan

Hey, that's a great idea!

Wonderful way to get rid of things no longer being used, which might be useable for somebody else.

I can't wait to see what books people put up for sale!

Bob, how long do classified posts stay active?

Is it a defined period of time, or is it indefinitely if/until the item sells or the seller no longer wants to sell it? I imagine it's the responsibility of the seller to delete the post if it sells, right?

When you're placing the ad, you can decide how long it will be posted for.

Yes, it is the responsibility of the person who placed the ad to take it down when the item sells.
